Funding
Can you explain the station’s funding?
93% of the station’s operating budget comes from our community of listeners and business supporters with about 7% from the Seattle School district.
Everything it takes for our broadcast service to reach listeners; from microphones and headphones, to the lease on our broadcast tower and streaming service, to the staff who run day-to-day operations and mentor students in the craft of broadcasting – this is what donations help pay for.

How do I update my membership or contact information?
You can use the Member Portal.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes!
DANCE 89.5 is owned by Seattle Public Schools but all fundraising revenue is collected by the c895/KNHC Public Radio Association, which is a 501(c)3 designated non-profit.
How do I request a receipt for tax purposes?
You will receive an email by January 31st with your annual tax receipt for donations made in the previous year. You can also access your tax receipts and giving history through our online Member Portal.
If you did not receive your receipt or need additional information, please send an email to membership@c895.org or call us at 206.252.3800. Please include your full name and phone number in your message so we can look-up your account information.
How do I request a matching gift from my employer?
Search our employer match directory at dance895.org/matching for instructions specific to your company.
NOTE: Be sure to have your employer match your donation to the C895/KNHC Public Radio Association, our partner 501(c)(3) non-profit. The Association’s Tax ID (EIN) is: 20-5402402.
How do I make other changes to my membership, such as my communication preferences?

If I renew my membership, can I request a new thank-you gift?
Yes!
Any time you donate to DANCE 89.5, you are eligible for the thank you gifts that are available at that time, based on the value of your donation. Visit dance895.org/renew
Monthly Membership
How do I update my credit card, expiration date, or other payment information?
There are two options for updating your payment information:
- Option 1: Login to our new Member Account Portal to update your information.
If you have not previously logged in, complete this form to create a profile and request an online Membership account. For security purposes, your request must be approved by an administrator, which usually takes 1-2 business days. You will receive an email when your account is approved.
If you have difficulty, please email membership@dance895.org or call 206.252.3800. - Option 2: Simply start a new monthly donation and, in the comments, let us know you would like this to replace your previous monthly donation.

How does a monthly donation work?
You can join DANCE 89.5 as a Monthly Donor by donating from your checking or savings account, or using your credit or debit card.
Monthly payments are processed on the same day every month and renew automatically each year, unless you specify otherwise.
Many companies, and the State of Washington, allow employees to use payroll deduction for monthly donations. Several advantages of payroll deduction include automatic matching by your employer, lower administrative costs, and not having to worry about the expiration of your credit card. Contact your HR department or visit your company intranet for details.

As a Monthly Donor, can I get an annual thank-you gift?

Privacy & Security
Does DANCE 89.5 give out my address, email address, phone number or other personal data?
No. Absolutely not.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your information will also never be shared with other commercial, political, marketing, or fundraising entities.
Will I be bombarded with mail or email?
No.
We send out a bi-monthly news-brief and you will receive reminders when it is time to renew your annual membership or update your personal information.
During fundraisers, you may receive invitations to special events, opportunities to participate in a matching challenge, or info about special thank-you gifts.
You will also receive an annual statement of your donations to DANCE 89.5 for tax purposes.
Is my financial information secure?
Yes! We do not store your credit card, debit card, banking, or other payment information.
When you donate to DANCE 89.5, your payment information is encrypted and processed by Paya, an industry-leading, PCI-compliant payment processor with decades of experience supporting public broadcasting and other nonprofits.
