“Master mixer of funky, infectious dance music with soul”
That’s how Woodrow describes the music that he plays. Growing up in a house with parents in a band, music was always first. Whether it was the guitar riffs of his Father or the soulful singing of his Mother, music was constantly being played in the house. As a child of the 80’s, Woodrow took a passion towards electronic music from the likes of Depeche Mode, New Order and the Pet Shop Boys. The Melodic riffs, Soulful driving vocals and brooding synth basslines that you hear in Woodrow’s Dj sets all stem from the wide spectrum of musical influences from his upbringing.
As an active member in the local Seattle scene, Woodrow is no stranger to the Producer aspect of the job as well. Working with the likes of David Michael in the studio, Woodrow would go onto release his first independant vinyl track in 2001, titled “Rock The Nighclub”. Collaborating with Danny Coker in 2011, under the moniker Disko Junkeez, Woodrow released “High Voltage” and “You’re not Alone” on the independant label Jook music. In 2012, Woodrow would collaborate with Dj Crime under the moniker Audio Mekanixx to release a remix of the iconic house song “Sing it Back”, along with his own individual release of the house classic on Sweet Cherry Music. Branching out to take his underground sound to the masses. Woodrow teamed up with Chris Roxstar to work with David Longoria of Universal Music. In 2013, Roxstar and Low released the dancefloor hit “Lose Control” feat. April Diamond on the Del Oro music label.
In 2020, Woodrow teamed up with Dj Simpa to form SIMPLOW, a dj act where 2 djs play on 4 cdj’s. Working in the studio together in 2023, SIMPLOW released the remix of the house classic “Days Go By” by Dirty Vegas. You can catch SIMPLOW playing at local clubs around Seattle and local festivals in the PNW. You can catch Woodrow Low on the longest running House Music Radio Station, Seattles own C89.5, regulary playing The Drive at 5 mix show.
As a producer, promoter and dj, he has found multiple avenues to express his passion for music.
“There’s nothing stronger than the bond of music. When that connection is made, it is truly magical.”
