Randy’s journey in radio began in 1976 as a student at KMIH on Mercer Island. In 1979, he was introduced to the dance club scene by a close friend, igniting a passion for DJ mixing that would define his career. Early residencies included Tonight’s The Night and Skoochies, two of the leading New Wave clubs of their time. He went on to pioneer many of Seattle’s legendary all-ages dance clubs, including The Rage, Club Broadway, The Underground, The OZ, and DV8.

By 1990, Randy began to transition into the 21+ scene, performing four nights a week at Neighbours nightclub. His sets ranged from disco to house music themes and the launch of Rock Lobster in 1992—a tribute to ‘80s New Wave hosted by the legendary Mark Finley.

In 1995 Randy shifted from full-time club DJ to Music Programmer, joining AEI Music. He became widely known for his programming, developing targeted branded music strategies and music mixes for many leading fashion and hospitality businesses worldwide; Abercrombie & Fitch, Tommy Hilfiger, PacSun, Bahama Breeze, Capitol Grille and many more.
Today, Randy continues to spin every Saturday night at Neighbours and remains a driving force in introducing and championing new music in the region. With over four decades of influence—from disco and new wave to house, HiNRG, trance, and techno—Powermix keeps the party going, past, present, and future.
