About the Host
Mel McCoy is a proud alum of Nathan Hale High School and the broadcast radio program. She’s a dance music junkie with a soft spot for anything from the ‘90s and early 2000s – think glitter, glow sticks, and epic remixes. Mel vibes with almost every genre under the sun, if it makes you want to move, she’s all in.
Mel started her adventure at DANCE 89.5 as a high school freshman. She loved her time as Assistant Music Director, and her on-air duties throughout the program. Mel graduated in 2001. She continued to volunteer and do fill-in shifts with the station as needed until being offered the reigns of Planet Dance in January of 2003. The party really got hot when Mel was joined by co-host Matt, bringing their now iconic energy and banter to the airwaves.
