In addition to our award-winning music and public service programs, DANCE 89.5 provides a supportive learning environment both in the classroom and through real life work experience.
Our students learn important skills like live announcing, audio production, writing for social media, music selection, and basic engineering. Through the Digital Media Pathway, students can earn a professional certification. Most importantly, the one-on-one support and work experience they get at DANCE 89.5 helps our students develop the confidence and professionalism to be successful after high school.
Students enrolled in the Digital Media Pathway, the educational program at DANCE 89.5, launch their media careers with hands-on experience at one of the country’s most renowned high school radio stations. Our students don’t just learn, they do, gaining the technical skills, broadcast knowledge, and ethical grounding needed to thrive in today’s fast-paced media landscape.
Throughout the program, they master the rules of the airwaves, write and edit scripts, and learn techniques to bring words to life. They gain professional-level experience while using the same tools and workflows as today’s media industry leaders.
This is more than a class – it’s a gateway to the exciting world of digital media.
From operating cutting-edge broadcast equipment to perfecting their audio editing skills, our students train like true media pros.
Students dive into content creation for radio, social media, and podcasts – developing top-notch production, writing, and editing skills.
Whether they’re behind the mic solo or on air as a part of a broadcast team, our students play an active role in real on-air broadcasts.
We want to acknowledge our current group of student staff members and interns who make DANCE 89.5 everything you love.

Thanks for your help with the latest upgrade in 2024!
The DANCE 89.5 facility includes two state-of-the-art on-air studios. Each studio features a Wheatstone audio console, VoxPro Real-Time Editing Software and Playback unit, three RE20 mics, and all of the associated hardware and software.
Five production studios are available for recording and editing content. Each studio features an AudioArts DMX-8 audio console and an RE20 mic. We use Adobe Audition for recording and editing all audio files.
Our dedicated podcast studio allows up to four people to be recorded simultaneously. We use a Rodecaster Pro II console, RE20 mics, and Adobe Audition multitrack software.
